The Galapagos Islands are a nature-loving goddess’s idyll: but while you might imagine that in such an out-of-the-way place it’s all about roughing it, really, how much you choose to do that is up to you. An interest in the local flora and/or fauna is a must, because the islands are a unique hosting area for a whole variety of endemic and/or threatened species – including friendly sea lions, marine and land iguanas, turtles, penguins, a variety of birds, and of course the enormous Galapagos tortoises.
